Whilst they Sleep
While strolling through the pasture warm Mine eyes broke stride of all that be Pastoral field capacious and replete To grasp the all doest wonder me
Within yon reeds comes oddest sound A croaking low of space content The sun is warm and water near Oh my what a happy frog is he
A breeze comes by and grasses yield Their verde limbs bend in grace Some be tall and reaching age While others small still pushing on
This fallen bough from overhead Speaks tales of years and seasons change The summer sun and winters night Of leaves that were upon this limb
My foot steps light so not disturb The balance of untouched ground Fragile is this open plain And creatures wild doth call this home
Flock of swallows dart about The cliffs above their sacred realm Above the water lithe and swift To snare insects so unaware
Reflections glimmer from reclining pond As leaves assemble at the edge And killdear search the moistened soil For nother meal in fixed cacoon
Trees surround and grow with age Their branches long foliage full Bark reveals their many strifes And size tells tales of seasons past
If only those of younger years And those of night and all its fears Could see and feel for what is here A world so full and meant for they
