I thought that it was over
I thought that I was through
I thought I never again would
Cry tears over you
I thought my pain had ended
And that I no longer cared
About the end to the friendship
We for so long had shared
But then I found a memory
The last one that we had
And instantly the tears were back
I rediscovered all the sad
In some ways I'm ashamed
You still have the power to hurt me
But I can't say I'm surprised
This is how I never wanted it to be
We lost our sisterly painful bond
We've faded into something you can't see
But, though hurt, I'm not surprised
This is how I hated thinking it would be

Unfortunately I can relate to this. Very, very much. It's amazing how much someone can have an effect on us even after they're gone for good. Some people never quite walk all the way out of our lives. Great write.
