A Voice Within...

Contributed by kidpoet_213 on Tuesday, 28th December 2004 @ 05:05:55 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Here I stand
Holding the rose of my heart
Within my trembling hands
It has turned from life unto death
Not a breath remains
Not even the pain
For it has ceased to exist

For all I have worked for is now lost
In the flowing tears
That float upon an ocean of fears
I feel Ive lost the rose of my heart
A voice within has torn it apart

A voice within calls out to you my friend
As the fierce angry winds of hate whip themselves about you
Wrapping you in their icy grip
They speak of dark evil things
Shouting to you from inside
Shouting things like Youve already died

They always scream your name out loud
As you recoil in pain fighting the shame
They call you to places of darkness anger and fear
Breaking you down into tears
Where a sea of angry faces swirl about you
Haunting you from their endless Hell
A place where love no longer exists because it fell

From high atop the pedestal of life
You torture your soul night after night
With your long sharp bloody knife
The blade is all that exists
Your life now is beginning to twist
To spiral down out of control
Hold on please just hold on

Listen
Do you hear another voice within?
A voice shouting your name over and over again?
Shouting with all its might
Shouting to be heard in your fight
Shouting over the chaotic winds that have become your life
Shouting for you to STOP the cutting with your angry bloody knife

Wanting you to come out of the darkness where you hide
Wanting you to feel the warm vapors of loves light
Wanting you to feel the warmth that surrounds you on every side
Just STOP and deeply breath in these vapors of the light within

For no longer should you stay
In a place where no light of day remains
Where love can no longer be sustained
A life without love is no life at all
Not even an existence not even a trace
Cause the darkness has enveloped you
It has no soul shows no mercy no grace

How I want you to be free
To be surrounded by all the love youre needing
To come and feel a renewing spirit within
So the darkness has no rule over your obsession to be thin
Its not worth the pain you are putting your body through
Just to please a world that doesnt give a damn about you!

Fat or thin I could care less
Looks are not what is important to this lass
Cause thats not what makes you who you are
Its whats inside not what is without and scarred

Youll never know why I cry these tears
I cry
Youll never feel all these fears
That I have for you inside
Unless you wake up to the truth
About the lies you keep telling yourself
Day after day night after night
With a voice from within
That lies and tells you not to fight
With its evil grin of pure delight

Here I stand
Holding the rose of my heart
Within my trembling hands
It has turned from life unto death
Not a breath remains
Not even the pain
For it has ceased to exist

For all I have worked for is now lost
In the flowing tears
That float upon an ocean of fears
I feel Ive lost the rose of my heart
A voice within has torn it apart

this was really pretty, and I liked it..but it was a wee bit long for my taste..or maybe just tonight.. maybe it's my mood..'cause it does make its point and it is pretty in it's dark way..

OMG This is such a heart wrenching piece Donna. I hope she listens to you. I'm in awe. It's so sad. It's a shame how people can hurt themselves in this way. I hope your wish comes true and she hears your voice within her speaking out loud. *S* Cynthia
