Surrounded by wrappings and noise and glee I open, fake a smile because I love them. Expectancy lingers but I will not acknowledge I turn to a corner and despise it Duplicated disappointments in all shapes and sizes And this whole 'festive' period always has a new, earth-shattering surprise for me This year it brings me a photograph of a tree Each branch sparkles differently They clash. I, the leaf, recognise each of my homes and I clash with none But I'm not sure they recognise me Every time, closeness is prevented when I am blown to a different branch And on my hurricane journeys I question the value of family - they are supposed to know you the best, support you the most - We could barely do either. "Happy Christmas" forced together in harmony But how can I expect them to Give Me What I Want when I don't truly know myself? The tarot reader gives me 'insight' as my answer. My story results in growth and insight is the perfect nourishment So that's my New Year's Resolution I need to take another look inside Find what I know is on my mind Concrete my plans Follow my dreams Polish my clock Cleanse my eyes Build flesh on my skeleton Sink in some roots And then all will be well All will be well ...?

| I too feel the disappointment of festivities esp with one of my branches; feeling increasingly uncentred on MY family roots. However I am happy with another branch which never fails to create joy. You will find your branch and perhaps make your own, dont be lonely xx |
