On your quiet strength, I have drew
My inner self is known to few
I had opened up and given myself to you
But time is borrowed, can't be bought
Alone, I'd always faced my fears
Silent pleas had fallen on deaf ears
Learning to trust in myself over the years
Pain, it's what the past had brought
It's a terrible sound a heart makes
When it shatters and shrivels and literally breaks
I pray I don't repeat past mistakes
And find out all is for naught
My eyes have carressed your rugged face
Engulfed within your warm embrace
My heart had found it's resting place
Today has given me thought.

Tanna,Your poem drew me in emotionally especially lines 1 and 2 3rd verse. I absolutely love those lines in particular.
