REGRET - by J. Samuelson Copyright2001 01/15

My conscience is eating at me
Decaying, destroying my mind
My self afflicted torment
Bleeding me from the inside
My thoughts just leave me numb
Confusion rages, what have I done?
How could I have been so blind?
I pressured you, now youre gone.

Ive lead myself to this pity
To feel pathetic, ashamed, and useless
Ill punish myself for a life time
I accept it, I was so careless.
My mistakes will forever haunt me
So impossible to ever forget
I know I brought this all on myself
I now imprison myself with Regret.

My God, I cannot believe this
How can I live with what Ive done?
Ive ruined the best from inside me
Im not sure I can carry on.
I found me on top of the world
But in an instant, falling so fast
There will never be love for another
Ill hide all alone with my past.

Ill always remember that day
The love that I felt when we met
I am making myself relive it again
To punish myself with Regret.
Its always imbedded inside me
What Ive done I refuse to forget
All that is left is Im sorry
I still love you, Ill never Regret.
