PARADISE LOST

Grief

Sly stealth Tsunamis hitting by surprise Annihilated furlough paradise, Immense the prize, so very high the cost, Tsunami hit, and paradise was lost.
Surrounded by Tsunami water wall, And walls and more walls, devastating, tall,- With people trapped , endeavoring to flee- Some made it, but face waves of agony.
The violent earthquake broke the littoral, Thus setting free the killer water wall, It broke, -our mother earths crust, And rest and ease turned history and past.
The Indonesian paradise now is A heap of devastation and debris, But babys bucket and small train still lies Upon the sand of treacherous paradise..
Full mad with grief, expression crazed and wild, The mothers run to find their little child, While smiling high above the cloudless skies Care not about the loss of Paradise.
With corpses littered is the sunny shore On which vacationers will run no more, Foul and infectious stench is in the air And faces mark wild grieving and despair.
Where is my wife one asks, but no one knows And seeks amongst the dead his new wed spouse, A tourist foreign language student cries: He's gone- we were about to fraternize.
While maddened mothers shriek in vain and shout The killer waves took playing children out, Young lovers that embraced an hour ago, Are now bereft in helpless grief and woe.
With every hour passing numbers rise Of hapless victims of Lost Paradise. And grandpa howls and wails - his progeny Was borne by killer waves far out to sea.
Grave diggers dig and dig as fast they can Mass graves for babies, women children men, Above the sea shores, running many miles, A cloudless azulean heaven smiles.
Tsunamis hit, in spite of smiling skies, By stealth they hit and killed, - by stealth surprise, Some search for loved ones, digging on their knees,- The drinking water foul and breeds disease.
What poets quill can pen the agony Caused by the earth quake and the wily sea, And feel and emphasize sufficiently With all the heartache of humanity.
Oh tried and suffering humanity! Prey of dear mother natures treachery, Betrayal, where grim reapers rule holds sway, Have pity on them all dear Lord we pray!
