the night of the party

Topic: DarkPoetry

It was the night of the party.
The spirits were high.
The girls in their short skirts.
The boys with crates of beers.

The music played so loud.
And they danced all the night.
Until they slurred the drunken count down.
On that new years eve flight.

A girl didn't belong there, but she came anyway.
Just after midnight..
A few shots of vodka too many...
She got into a car.

It was the night of the party.
Top speeds through the night.
Around the corner too fast.
That beer before they left, there last.

The night of the party.
A girl in the car dying.
Everyone was dead.
And a fatal wound to her head.

I said I wouldn't go to the party.
I told mum that I wouldn't.
I snuck out of my room, go into a car with a drunk,
Now I am brain damaged...
Happy New Years mum.

Well, then... You think they could use that poem maybe for one of those commercials against drunk driving?
