When opportunity knocks the door

Contributed by girish on Saturday, 1st January 2005 @ 12:09:20 PM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

In nature, Crow conquers the owl in the broad daylight
So also, the defeated king needs fitting time to fight

The bond that binds fortune, is effort made
Strictly observed, its still a favoring season`s aid

Can any work be hard in its very fact,
If you use, fitting means in your timely act?

Even the pendant world`s dominion may be won
If action that fits time and place be done

If one wishes the pendant world itself to subjugate
For the fitting time, with unruffled mind, must wait

Persons with mighty power make their hidden energies repress
As the fighting army, recoils to rush on foe with heavier stress

Glorious persons, even with wrath enkindled, make no outward show
But will bide their time, with hidden fires within them glow

Even for foes hateful form, with patience, let them bear
At last for fateful hour that they spy, the head lies there

If for you, the hardest gain of opportunity is won
With promptitude, let even the hardest deed be done

Like the heron that stands with folded wings, in waiting hour
When fortune smiles, as it snaps its prey, put forth your power.
