Nothing Is As It Seems

Contributed by MoonlitAngel on Monday, 3rd January 2005 @ 10:15:47 AM in AEST
Topic: LoveRemembered

but you don't feel me anymore...

My heart in a hundred thousand shards
Sure I would be permanently scarred
Till someone else opened up my eyes
And helped me to finally say goodbye
Took away my worries with his smile
Made everything seem somehow worthwhile
His happiness was so beyond me
I wondered if I could ever be that free

Fascinated, his mind I explored
Was he the key I'd been looking for?
Life was good, for once I was happy
I let him in and prayed he'd stay here with me
Then one night it all shattered inside
And I couldn't hide it though I tried
Torn apart a hundred times in vain
Knew I couldn't walk away, no matter the pain

But how could I stay with someone who
Could not love me even if he tried to?
Knowing he can never feel the way
He made me feel as my tears fell away
Poetic rhymes from a madman's mind
Killed me slowly, struggling to find
A way to deal with loving someone
Who cannot feel me even as I come undone...

though never loved, I am adored...

Now nothing is as it seems
I look but my eyes do not see
And although I don't belong
I'll lay with you until the dawn...

such an expression of emotion, it's sad, and powerful, and so many things. Great job.

I desperately want to say I know...
I can't fully though because I don't.
Mayhap someday something with him will change...
I loved this one Dee, I loved so many lines in this one and it's true nothing said about this one will ever do it justice.

A person can only change when they know to change and what to change....how to change.

I question more and more...

I admire the openness with which you wrote this. To me, it feels as if these emotions are being immortalized, in a way. Sounds silly, but I suppose that is one of the reasons we write - to turn our emotions into an epic of sorts, something to be remembered, by ourselves at least. Beautifully done.
