The other day I almost died, I sat weeping & my soul cried, I had lost you or so I thought, To me a cruel lesson was being taught.
You felt like I didnt love you anymore, So on our relationship you closed the door, But in your heart you hurt so bad, As my love was the best youd ever had.
I am not perfect that I dont deny, I may sometimes do things that make you cry, But I know without you I would be so empty, As from you I get love in abundance & a plenty.
You & I are best friends as well as lovers, In our love we have found such cover, I know things have been quite hard, But in my top role you have long starred.
The thought of losing someone like you, Makes sadness stick to me like glue, You have given so much in the last 2 years, Held my hand & wiped away my tears.
If I lost that I know I wouldnt survive, Without you I wouldnt wish to be alive, You have helped me face my demons, Gave me love & explained all its meanings.
This poem is written from the bowels of my heart, Without you my love Id surely fall apart, If I lost you my lover, my best friend, To my lonely tears there would be no end.

One of the things I admire most about you Pixie, is that when you write rhyming poetry, you don't force the rhyme ... so few do that well ... sometimes sounding close enough is the best approach. It can even add a bit in my opinion if I have one word just slightly off ... because it draws attention to it's off pattern placement ... then demands that the reader pause and try to determine a better word or phraze ... and it is then you really know ... you got 'em.
