A Rural Thought
Cotton candy falls from the sky Thy feet be warm from fires flame Lambs in straw and warming light Cord to barn for blizzards force
The blinding strength and flying flakes Allow but yards to vaguely see The bitter cold goes deep inside Weve spent these days for weeks it seems
The trails to town are drift and hard No other souls for quite some time Our larder is full no need for food And coal is piled quite amply high
The horses rest inside the barn And cows still give their milk so warm Water frozen yet axe will break And hay til spring what more to be
Vistas spread for miles around And fields with crops when summer turns Pastures filled with bovine herds And sheep of wool and bleats at night
We chose this life to be ourselves No urban blight or unclean air The only crime is a cookie gone wrong Or a boot not found when in great need
Dont even ask if we would trade Dont even ask if work is hard Dont even ask why we are here Those thoughts be not within our home

Cool, definitely thought this was good, simple and
good. Makes me think of the Hudderite villages
nearby and the stories I've read of the Amish;
perhaps you were intending something like that, or
how it used to be in the past.
Good job,
