Till he wakes in the morn, At the first light of dawn, When the sun filters through the curtain. He grabs for her arm, No more sweet charm; His golden locks flicker red in the mirror. Sugar lips melt to lava, He spits his cruel mantra; Angel ringlets are scalded to cinders. But it’s blood that he thirsts, Not trust, love, nor lust; Fists crack this knight’s worn out armour. And then at his ‘darling’ Reflection in mourning; Collecting shards as if they were gold.
From her nose; a single porcelain chip, Was just enough to draw a single drip.
The crimson paint from her lips Dribbled and ran Sea blue ink of her eyes Melts away her white tan The rouge from her cheeks Blows away on a gust And her delicate figure Just crumbles to dust
He crushes the glass in his fists Watching the black run down his wrists His flawless protector lies cold on the stone Forever in guilt and moreover alone.

Enchanting and very eerie but beautiful all the same. I like how you mixed all these feelings together. Lovely piece... |
