Treading the dusty road of war,
onto our doom we walk forever more,
the deeper we go, memories of the past haunt us
and fears of what the future holds for us...
Reloading, dodging, staying out of view,
crawling through the mud to a safe place,
morale to keep us together, officers to lead our way,
the ones who get shot are those who stray...
Life is a battlefield, fought in your mind,
you direct, you choose, you fight, you love, you hate,
the more it entangles itself and it leaves you behind.
Remember that sounds and tears will last but a moment, but scars last forever.

| id like to see this better formatted and for us not to rhyme with us. in the third stanza, the list was not effective. |
