We said our goodbyes the other day
And a tear went through my heart
I thought that we would stay in love always
And never ever part ...
The things you say are hurtful and wicked
The pictures you paint are not as depicted
Why could you not have believed in me
As I have believed in you ...
When I said I love you .. It was forever
I even forgave your other endeavors
I eat your touch and drink your smile
For me it is not so easily done
When I have told myself and my God
That you are the only one ...
You hold me with such disdain
Why do you inflict this hurt and pain?
Every day you would start a fight
I would close my ears and begin to write
You scream at me "We are finished"
Yet my love for you has not diminished ...
You woke the demons so long dead
That I am afraid,
With so few words you destroy our dreams
Because you don't really know what true love means ...
How did this become our reality
This is not the way our world was supposed to be
When I looked into your eyes there was nothing there
Except your usual callous, arrogant stare
Our love was already gone ...
Guess she came between us after all
Leave now... and tell her she has won
The love that we once held so high
Had slowly started to fall
I don't know how are when
We ran into this wall ...
I don't want to fight anymore
Nor do I want to talk
There is no fight left in me
So, go ahead baby ... walk

I really liked this line:
"I eat your touch and drink your smile"
That was really great..
and I could tell how tired you felt at the end.. good write.
