Worthless and inadequate,
Overwhelmed by my shame,
How can a God stand to look at me,
Nonetheless call me by name.
I am marked by my sins,
A scarlet scar for me to bear,
How can a God want to know me,
How can He claim to care.
I am crushed by my choices,
Lost in self-inflicted pain,
I wish I could go back and
Be made whole again.
I can't see how he loves me,
No evidence to show I'm known,
I wish I could feel now
All the love I'm shown.
Come and heal my heart Lord,
Let me know you are there,
I am certain that in this moment,
You're the one I need to care.
I know I've made bad choices,
Mistakes I'll never misplace,
Please hold me closely Father,
Let me see your face.

God's love is so unconditional... He's there and does love you!!! No matter what u think u have done!!!
A very powerfully written piece... and emotionally moving... I can certainly relate to it...
I... too... have had times when I felt like God was so far away... Who moved? It wasn't God...

| this is really beautiful and so sad,, good write and i can relate to...sometimes its hard to feel we could ever be loved by God but he does love us and does care about EVERYONE...but sometimes we are blind to that. but he does care,.......take care,,,,lovely poem |

| I dont believe in regret because at the time you did what was done you must have thought it was right. We are all human and the only way to learn sometimes is to experience the mistake. God knows your pain so how can he not forgive you? You must forgive yourself also and move one to happier days. Your poem is so fantastic its great. |
