Sacred Place Within Me

Contributed by thereturnofx7 on Sunday, 9th January 2005 @ 10:04:42 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

There's an tender hearted angel that comes to visit
Every night within my empty walls, the place I find slumber
Where we share tales of each others atrocious stories
Of the insainty and unfairness life seems to give us both

Spending most everynight surfing on the blue ocean of her eyes
Flirting with the devil in disguise underneath her fragile halo
With a look of a precious goddess so long forgotten
Leaving me willing to sell my soul to her, a fragment at a time

Hidden within insults she wraps messages of care
Though sometimes I fail to realize we share the same trauma
Of not being able to speak exactly what we really mean to say
Surprsingly enough, despite my pity parties she'll stick with me

It pains me that the distance between she and I is so great
I'd glady be there, kleenex in hand, to wipe the tears from her eyes
A soul as amazingly gorgeous her's is shouldn't be made to cry
If I could I'd be her armor, to shield her beauty from the wraith of life

Though I guess if I only could say it in a single sentance
I'd simple whisper the most dreaded phrase people like us could here
Extending my calloused fingertips to take her away from it all
I'd shelter her in my arms and whisper of the sacred place she has in me
The chance for her to claim for good, a sacred place in me

Lovely romantic poetry. I'm assuming you meant "hear", not "here" at the end of the fourth to the last line. Nice write. Cheers!
