Whats in a name
New York city
Detroit Dallas
Chicago or LA
The gates of hell are painted the same
Cocain a powerdy must
Let the music play
Undercover agents fall
Blood running down a sewer drain
Lady of the night or day fullfills any lust
Scanty shorts a transparent blouse
Bent over hands on a gate of steel
Look at that inticing sway
The gates of hell show signs of rust
A limozine a dating service
Chapane and mixed drinks click
Laughter and music
A ladies head bowed down low
A business man fullfills his vice
A corner party store bared windows a shiney black gate
A black man Spanish or white
Living at the edge of hell
No joy in the paper bag bottle
Yet heaven can wait
Gun shots heard down a neighorhood street
A single mother cries
Her bared up home no protection
A toddler two
Slick black hair curly blond an affro tied in bows
The morning paper states how sweet
Doors are locked at the Baptist and Catholic church
Open by day closed by night
White man say
I don't know why they choose to live that way
Silver is the lining of the local banks gate
Never known where danger lurks
Empty stores and walls of gafettie
Hitlers broken cross
Black power Spanish rule white man passing through
Golden are the gates of hell
Hero sports man catching confetti
A lomozine passing by
Chanpane and a glass of wine
Night time day time ladies sway
A woman man or child dies today
Through hells gates dark angels fly

I kept thinking of Las Vegas, but you're right...most all of them have their underbelly. It's so sad. Once you know the weight of sin, you can only feel pity for the trapped and pray for them. Well said, my friend. Well said.

If one says Hell isn't here on earth, they haven't opened their eyes wide enough and truly looked around. Life is nothing more than a tragic play upon the stage.
