As I gazed into the mirror the reflection stark and cold revealed the worn and weary shell of the remnants of my soul.
This soul so filled with promise from the moment I was born now gazed at me in anguish scarred, tattered and torn.
It took me back in reverie down the byways I had strode down the many dark alleys of life walked by the foolish and the bold.
The bold through their endeavours stride on to victory but I one of the foolish found heartache and misery.
This reject of a mother's hand filled with negativity screamed at the world in anger you world, you owe me.
I took on law and order railed against authority never thinking the establishment could lay its hand on me.
but time and tide at last ran out for time it is not blind and it does not gladly suffer fools but reacts with chains that bind.
I made a pledge that evening not to live for my self gain but to cherish self and others make my soul whole again. (c) copyright 2005 Fwog down the byways I had strode

Since I'm in a humble mood anyway, your poem catches that mode of being perfectly. Blessings. |

If life were easy, would there be strong people in the world? Me thinks not, for all who live would have handed everything to them on a silver platter; leaving them helpless.
However, on the other hand, life should not be strewn with broken dreams and turmoil around every bend.
Expressive write.
peace

My Dearest Dallas... Life once dealt you some cards that you, perhaps played badly. But you have also been some another set of cards with which you can redeem yourself.
I know this is what you have done and will continue doing.
Great write..Thank you for sharing this, my friend.
Hugs from your island friend...
Jenni

I like the message here and the flow of the rythym ... I did struggle a few times with cadence on a few of the lines but when I read them again slower it worked ok. A very pleasant read. Thanks.
