He's Gone

Contributed by Elf on Tuesday, 11th January 2005 @ 09:36:20 PM in AEST
Topic: LoveRemembered

As I sit here, now in the sanctity of my room, I am able to think clearly once again.
With no music playing, & no distractions surrounding me, I can finally ponder on the events & thoughts of the day.
I light my candle, sit on my floor, close my eyes, & open my mind....................

The beat of my heart pulses in my ears, yet all I can hear is him telling me that hell never hurt me, or ever leave; that he loves me. The sharp cinnamon scent of the candle drifts across my face, but all I can smell is the sweet smell of his cologne as he holds me close enough to him that I can hear his heart beat as well as my own. The heat from the candle warms my hands, yet all I can feel is his touch; filled with tenderness, love & care. Over the sound of my own heart, is the melody of a time long since past. I am carried up with the song; higher until I can no longer see the world below. All that remains is he & I, standing strong together when everyone else had fallen. Soon after, the melody of the song falls, carrying me back to Earth, where I am criticized for who I am, & the people I know.
The music stops, & I am thrust back into reality..... Hes gone..........
