My Home, My Shield

If my home could speak, If the walls had lips, What would they say? How would they quip?
Would they tell you of laughter? Would they speak of sweet joy? Would they tell you my secrets? My image to destroy,
For within these walls, I have lived most of my life, I have rejoiced in peace, I have wallowed in strife,
For this is my home, The place where I dwell, And it keeps all these quiet, With no one to tell,
This place is my refuge, Where I know I can hide, For these silent walls shield me, When Joy and sorrow collide,
