There is a depression to this generation A merciless plague that leaves us sickened With a black cloud on a cloudless day A dark room with no way out A foul smelling Tunnel that has no end A silent killer A scream that no one can care A chill that is untreatable A bitter taste That takes away the appetite A cage that traps A wall that keeps us reaching out for help A huge cliff that no one can get over A river that pulls you under Before the help can reach A cave that we hide in An emptiness that nothing can fill.

This is really good! Awesome comparisons, I have to agree with all of them! I gotta tell you, this poem sort of made me feel like I couldn't breathe. It definitely had an effect on me! Coz I've been there, and this poem is just so intense...maybe it's just me, but it got to me and pulled me in. Great job!

Great poem. I liked it very much. We all go through depression no mater what, but whats important is that one overcomes their depression. |

I really liked this poem lil_angel. Also holds alot of truth in this generation where depression seems rampid, and answers to questions out of our reach. The comparisons you used to desribe obstacles were very vivid. And made my reading experience of this poem very real. Which is what poetry is suppose to spark right? |
