THOSE EYES
Just what I needed
Those eyes are just as clear as I remember
The look I have so longed for
The smile I have so desperately missed
The soft gentle touch across the back of my hand
All the memories that came flooding back
I hope and pray I was not a disappointment
I tried to be so careful in choosing my words
I tried not to reach out and touch for fear of rejection
I tried not to stare oh how I want to remember those eyes
Just to share all my thoughts
Just to share all my little accidents
Just to share all my little quirks
Just to share all my fears and insecurities
Those eyes make it all so clear
You know me so well
You know how I feel before I speak
You know what I am thinking
You tell me to never be afraid to share with you
Those eyes make it all so true
Our time together is so precious
So meaningful
So peaceful
So tranquil
So graceful
So reassuring that tomorrow still will come again
I can never walk away from
