How shall I rid myself of you, You tormentor of my heart? You, who stirs up the warm pool of delight, Then poisons it with cruel reality?
How shall I eradicate you, You intrusive puzzler of truth? You, who casts ambiguous shadows, When I am most desperate for clarity?
How shall I quench you, You incessant rhythm? You, who pounds and resonates, Then falls silent as I decipher your pulse?
How shall I conquer you, You brilliantly veiled enemy? You, who are my misery incarnate, When I have no will to conquer at all?

The worst kind of infatuation is the illogical one. Turning it into something that feels like an enemy is creative. Nice write! Cheers! |
