Ever I must sit and wait,
For love to find me here,
Wishing on a dream long by,
And crying out this unshed tear.
For loveing me was just a lie,
Tempting though the thought,
Nigh! 'Tis done no more than hurt me,
Whilst being happy's what it ought.
Now I do not believe in love,
'Tis only in my dreams,
Where happiness and truth so told,
Is really what it seems.
So leave me to my misery,
Tell me no more lies,
You never really loved me,
Now 'tis that that I despise.
But if you change your mind,
And mean me what you say,
I'll give you one more chance,
For love to find a way.
