PREDESTINATION

Contributed by Lionel on Wednesday, 19th January 2005 @ 10:04:21 AM in AEST
Topic: ChristianPoetry

Beginning his quest with corruption of man,
when dis-obedience to God was displayed,
the belief in Satan's lies first began,
as promise of godhood to man was made.

Humanistic religion entered man's mind,
feeding the lust for all sin to do,
ruining fealty to his maker divine,
Swelling his pride, and hate-fulness too.

Devising new ways of strife and desire,
Satan sought power, subduing the man,
bestowing pleasure, while disguising the fire,
defeat of the Christ being his evil plan.

Also a creature, as is Satan's repute,
and supposing God less than God is,
(His attributes, not quite absolute),
he claimed the title of Godhood as his.

Then, followed rapidly, the blood and the gore,
down through historie's moral decline,
rebellion ever stronger the more,
til the advent of the Savior, Divine.

Then, Satan defeated, in chains even now,
tho' his work - the curse, yet plagues man,
God did, with hardly the lift of his brow,
satisfy, in Christ, his own righteous demand.

So, with this knowledge we can find,
God needed not to alter or modify,
His glorious plan set out in time,
to put the end to Satan's great lie.

Isa. 46:9-11 " Remember the former things
of old: for I am God and there is none else;
I an God and there is none like me, declaring
the end from the beginning, and from ancient
times the things that are not yet done, saying,
My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my
pleasure: calling a ravenous bird from the east,
the man that executeth my counsel from a far
country; yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring
it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it."
Eph. 1:4&5(predestination)
Rom. 8:29(predestination)
Dan. 4:35(God doeth his will in the army of
heaven, and among the inhabitants of earth,)

Amen. You always capture the sneaky ways that evil works in this world and make them clear for all to see. Thank you.

Man was born sinful, its nature of man to sin, to kill, to be jealous, to hate... yet we see this time old things still everyday, like animals when born know how to survive it seems that when man was born he knew how to hate...

These poignantly penned words remind me of St. Augustin.
He too hammered man's sinfulness in - in many of his chapters of "The City of God"
But I feel that we have to cling to the Savior and put boundless trust in Him.
Am I too optimistic?
Love and peace

You know your bible well. I would say though that you should read the book of Hebrews as well. God had all of this planned but each person makes his own choice.
