Escaping the light, to get somewhere fast,
No-one moves here, it belongs to the past,
The thoughts that you held, the lies you subtract
your eyes sense movement, but you're too slow to react.

I can't take the pain of watching you leave,
It repeats in my mind, it repeats in my dreams,
I used to think of the future as so bright and so clear,
now darkness is all that is left, enveloped in fear.

I can sense a beginning mixed with an end,
a fresh start, a new life, new enermies, new friends,
it was the best thing that you ever did for me
once more I'm alive, once more I can breathe.

The certainty of fate is all that there is
confused emotions give birth to deceit,
The impoverished youthful folly of love
is all that is felt by the ones who've given up.
