That One Night

Topic: oops

When the dawn comes,
your eyes will find the sky,
see the sun shining down,
on no one.
It wasn't like this before.
Last night on the dance floor,
gyrating your hips hypnoticly,
bopping to the beat your feet
bring you from the floor to the bar,
the bar to your car,
to the hotel room
for the joy of life.
Working through sweat,
staining the sheets,
you feel complete,
for fifteen minutes,
laying on your back
your eyes track the sky,
finding the moon,
shining down,
on someone.
