words couldnt save me
from the blade
this time
suicide seemed easiest
suicide looked like the answer
the answer to my misery
this time
promises Id made
were broken
like my mind
this time
the thought of you
couldnt keep the pen in my hands
and keep me from slitting my wrist
this time
the thought of my friends crying
over my cold and dead body
didnt make me want to live
this time
the thought of you
couldnt keep me from hurting myself
its not your fault though
this time
i cut myself
despite my morals and values
this time
was different
next time
will not be

| You know I love poems about suicide or failed attempts at it..Why is it so hard to do? The fact that people write about it so much here and other places makes me wanna pull a Slyvia Plath on myself. |

sylvia plath is a poet who killed herself. she was married to ted hughes who is also a poet.
i liked this poem, simple but expressive x |
