A Pale Faced Memory

Contributed by Maxximus on Tuesday, 25th January 2005 @ 02:23:09 PM in AEST
Topic: Grief

I silently wish to take her back, as her face burns right through my soul
I will have her, beauty of only a dream may I know her
phantom maiden or realities mistake, either do I take
blinking eye, second guess the fantasy
Tumbling down of logic, the vines cover my face
stone face the dream comes again
Face of a god, a dream, a life, all as one
A question found and an answer to life lost, she complicates this reality
complex little beauty, wound up in my mind
Or is she real, is this world all a lie and what I see in secret the only truth
her hair flickers as a dying flame, the night becons an effort to take her now
do I dare take what is mine, her heart my stepping stone
a sacrifice of mentality to bloom blood rose and die or a giving of soul and bring life to
what I know to be
Would I give my eternity for a second with you, the answer swells within me
no life would I rather have than a life where yours is one with mine
sweet phantom, dark illusion, ghost of a person long since gone
This world, she could not sustain
Her heart, her soul, too frail from the struggle
Yet beauty and vitality so firm
I would give all I have, all I could to pluck from fates cruel hand
the whisper, the dancing esteem that I wage this life so readily upon
No sacrifice too small, no pitfall too deep to challenge
for this turning of destiny- darkness, light one in the same
all to set free her frame, her soul from captivity spring
