In her daddys hands a little girl sees
So much promise and many mysteries.
In her daddys hands a young girl sees
His strength and courage as wide as the seas.
In her daddys hands a young woman sees
His trials and mistakes as quick as you please.
In her daddys hands a woman sees
His wisdom and knowledge in which she believes.
In her daddys hands a daughter
Is held, punished, taught and nourished
And she grows and loves and hurts and cries
She knows, learns, and understands
Because she was once held in her daddys hands.
