my love was in shatters,
askew on the floor.
i hear rain as it patters...
on my windows and door.
my heart strings were played,
and you played them off-key.
so i threw your broken soul into the sea.
just stare at your picture and try to look back,
and i don't know how... but we went far off track.
it was all so perfect, and crystal and blue.
the gentle caresses sent only from you.
but then it got rainy, the sky got so dark,
and somewhere inside me you blew out the spark.
i couldn't believe it but it was so true,
i lost my best friend the day i lost you.
