His Smile was the one thing
That I looked forward to each day
To see his face light up with joy
When I would walk his way
My entire world had balanced
On the corners of his lips
Temptation rested patiently
Behind ev'ry stolen kiss
I'd watch him when he was alone
And grieve silently inside
Awaiting quietly for the day
When I could make it all alright
My presence always seemed to spark a smile
And I could not help but grin
When he threw it away for something untrue
And lost his smile from within.
