Red Moon

Topic: InspirationalPoems

She lingers high and royal,
Adorned in scarlet tresses,
Contrasting flawlessly with her pallid flesh...
Her luminosity, no doubt seen and felt by all,
Falls upon me,
Embracing me in her sacrificed light...

Alone, and mighty in Obscurity's vast canvas,
Her children left unborn,
Stray shadows veil her face,
And I feel the loneliness creep in to take me...
Her ghostly outline peeking through the shroud,
Mocking, teasing almost...

Precious night, bringer of my Muse,
La Bella Luna....
Usually dressed in her cerulean gowns,
Yet, still, if not even more seductive...
The winds whisper of inspiration,
And the trees sway in gossip...

She smiles, the clouds give way,
And her beauty strikes me with such force,
That only tears could describe such immaculate splendor...
I bleed my emotions on the white plains,
Leaving ebony trails of words, thoughts, desires...
Reveries of a lost love torment and entice,

Evoking tears of gentle sorrow,
Forming words of anguish and despair...
Vivaldi plays his Four Seasons,
The solemn strings of Winter play a mournful tune,
Only deepening my pain...
Ma rouge Luna, she weeps with me,

Diamond tears cascading, earth bound....
Such elegance, such splendor...
The Morning Ruler proclaims its presence with a ray of light on the horizon,
And I know that I must say goodbye...
She reassures me, comforts me with her dazzling smile,
And whispers, "I will come for you...when Darkness paints his picture across the skies..."

I close my weary eyes,
Searching for Slumber's lullaby...
I descend to blissful dreams,
Of crimson moons, and winking stars...

I have found a new favorite ... at least untill you write again and carry my heart and mind into the heavens with you. You never cease to cause a still moment to fall upon me as I read your words. Time stands still, the moment frozen ... until I reach the end ... and return to start to read again ...
