our lamps and our nightgowns

As I watched the lights shining off the lake Victoria, for our lamps and our nightgowns, I cried. The sleek runners of the tribe would laugh at our attire as we rush to our tents, guessing screaming jackels intents, and shivering neath our nightclothes, while they sleep with the warmth of home and the ground within them and around them.
