I now understand why you said what you said
Why you told me those things lying in bed
I understand now why you trust only a few
I finally realize that they only want to hurt you
They like to hurt you, kick you when youre down
They can look down and laugh, and not even frown
I wondered at first, but now I realize a heart they lack
They smile at you, and then stab you in the back
They pretend to be there for you through it all
They say they will help you whenever you fall
Its not true, all they tell is a lie
I often sit down and begin to wonder why
They are so nice and wonderful friends at the start
Until you open up you lives and let them into your heart
When you are sure they are there for whatever you go through
That is when they look at you and say I have someone new
I was there for you but not anymore
Now I am kicking you out of the door
It breaks a heart more when you trust and then lose
It hurts more than any cut or bruise
I dont see why people choose to act this way
Just hang on, it will be better someday
Even though a lot of people act like that
Im asking you to trust me, Ive got your back
I dont have it to hurt or cause pain
Ive got it in the sun and Ive got it in the rain
Dont look at me like everyone else
Ill be there when you need any help
I dont trust many, I trust very few
I trust me, one of my true friends, and you
Hopefully Ill get lucky and youll trust me back
Ill be there when it seems everything is black
I am there through all good and bad
I will do my best to never make you sad
Ill be there when you need someone to hold
Money doesnt matter because my love cant be sold
It cant be bought at Krogers or Wal-Mart
The only way to get it is to go through my heart
I still dont understand why people treat you the way I do
All I know is that I am here for you
