Protection from the Storm

Topic: DreamsandWishes

.

Wish we could start over again,
So I could go back and be your friend,
Maybe it would be better if I just never was,
Or never met you and brought the pain I've caused.

The incipient stage of our love burned bright,
We held each other close, it was airtight,
You got scared and just ran away,
I just wanted you to stay.

What I miss now is our friendship,
The love was good but not the courtship,
We talked and laughed all night on the phone,
With out your soothing night words I'm all alone.

What I was going through, things that didn't involve you,
you listened, gave advice, my pain didn't accrue,
The love feelings I'm sure wont subside,
loss of your friendship I can't abide.

You don't know what you want,
I'll make it easy for you in this typed font,
Bad-boy dangerous and thrilling to to be around,
Adventurer who's pirates treasure is yet to be found,

Lover that makes you feel sexy, sensual, a little dirty,
Poet that moves your emotions and a little flirty,
Loyal stable father to make you feel warm,
I'm all that, and protection from the storm.

This is lovely, deep, and very emotional. IT makes me think of friends lost, and stories of lost lovers. Keep it up!

This whole poem was great and I can't help being attracted to the last two stanzas particularly. *grins* *and then sighs, telling myself "it's just a poem, wake up!"
Anyway, beautiful thought here. You seem to read the thoughts of many. Blessings,J.
