While giants lay sleeping
She tries to define herself
While they lay
sedated by the sun's warmth
covered gingerly
with blankets of delicate, soft cloud
She rationalizes who she is.
Some are older than others
wiser
with age comes wisdom?
And she desires to come into her own
to find her place
in their world
Peaceful, ageless giants
rugged and lasting
knowing something
she has yet to discover
inner peace

| The giants awake and
In response the
Clouds part.
They lift you on their backs so that
You may clearly see the valley below
Limbs turn to granite and soon
The rest of your body follows.
Underneath your mountain
A new person sits in your shade.
