Guilty Conscience

Contributed by cherrycoke on Thursday, 3rd February 2005 @ 10:06:25 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

This secret deep inside of me
Is eating away at my soul
Slowly and painfully, piece by piece
Until there's nothing left of me

Emotions, uncontrollable
Can't turn them on, can't turn them off
I'm losing this grip on what I thought was reality
Soon I'll end up alone

Insanity's got hold of me
And tightening its grip
Eternal bruising on my sense of being
Can't remember who I am

This pen, collecting thoughts itself
Is going on forever
Can't stop the writing, nor the fear
That's hiding in my core

War and fighting, contradiction
On and on, it's never-ending
Can't lay my guilty soul to peace
Regret is my best friend
