My sickly mellow song
becomes drowned by a faint but persistent bussing
it climbs my spine
leaving its footprints
prickling all the way
it grabs my throat
yet before it has the time...
I snatch it away
I drown it in its own filthy sullenness
reluctant to silence its pitiful droning
triumphant, I grin
I have overcome my demon
once again
