I roll the window down, And I take a breath The pungent scent of evergreen and roses From the passenger seat, You were driving me home, Taking me back to where we first met
A sunny day in fleeting Childhood, We were playing hide and go seek, I was seeking Behind the monkey bars and the mountain slides, You waited for me After a good 2 hours, I finally found you in our secret hideout, Underneath the grandma willow tree
My reverie had ended, With a new thought crossing my mind Looking upwards, I strain my eyes and try, To tell the difference between shooting stars and satellites Do they collide? I ask, and you smile With my feet on the dash board, The world didnt seem to matter any more Just you and me, Wandering on a dark country road, Not knowing where it would lead us, Just driving through with sightless eyes, And clasped hands The wind in our hair, The world lying in front of us You turn to me, With a Mona Lisa Smile, And say, If you need directions, Ill be your guideIf you feel embarrassed, Ill be your pride Stars and satellites do collide Ill be your friend for all time For all time Je tami ma petit!

A beautiful dedication to a most certain, special friend. May you be blessed by many more such people in your life Steph. You deserve it.

Your poetry is amazing. I think your actually getting better! Which is a bold statement considering I love all of your poetry......but your descriptions have so much depth to them.....I am amazed. This poem, is a great story, told in a heart felt tone, that flowed beautifully....full of appreciation and depth. I love it.
The world didn’t seem to matter any more…
Just you and me,
Wandering on a dark country road,
Not knowing where it would lead us,
Just driving through with sightless eyes,
And clasped hands…
The wind in our hair,
The world lying in front of us…
I think this part of the poem, especially expressed the meaning and profundity of your friendship. I like it because the descriptions show the emotions. "Not knowing where it would lead us, just driving through with sightless eyes" Damn-----that says it all, the ability to let go, and confront life, fully headstrong, together. Beautiful. "And clasped hands....the wind in our hair, the world lying in front of us" One word----Freedom. This is great. So deeply felt. Full of love, appreciation, and gratitude. This is the reason why we live. Keep writing. Your voice is true.
Be True,
