The state of poetry is such
Yes, it's the very soul you touch
When rhyme and reason is your spear
When words you write seem to endear
And many read your dissertation
Finding fault with your creation
Invidious the state they're in
Invidious a state within
You're in the pentagon of time
Three sides are paper, ink and rhyme
It's a reflection that you see
A soul of words you want to be
And thoughts precede the words you write
And therefore you can never hide
The evidence, the words are there
The very moment you despair
Such is the state of poetry
Yes, in the pentagon of time
Where all the words I catch are mine
And if I trap the ones that rhyme
I'll write a kiss my valentine
And if I trap the one's that don't
I'll have no poetry...my kiss is lost
And I will envy those that write
Kissing you into the night

A very Interesting Prespective. It is quite nice but I have one question what does this line mean "And if I trap the ones that rhyme
I'll write a kiss my valentine
And if I trap the one's that don't
I'll have no poetry...my kiss is lost"
why does it matter if the poetry rhymes or am I misunderstanding. Either way I truly like your poem. |
