Crimson Petal

The single petal, of a crimson rose, floats down to Earth, to lie in the water. It travels far, carried by caressing waves, and is beached, among the wet grains of sand. It journeys far, in the pocket of a girl, closed in a book, to dry out, to grow old. The petal is wrinkled, decayed with it's age, but still holds it's sweet scent, when she gives it to him. He'll cherish it forever, this she knows, the rose petal near her heart, he will always hold.
