What am I?
For hundreds of years we have been hunted
So much that our numbers have been stunted
Mankind and beasts fear us at the least
On children flesh we do not feast
We were dammed by the church and folk lore
So that is why by many we are adored
They say that we are unholy and wrong
If that is so then where do we belong?
They say that our sins are in the eight circle of Hell
Where those who committed them suffer and dwell
So then why by many are revered and honored
About their devotion many have pondered
They take names after us and call us brother
They respect us like the earth and treat us like a lover
And so in this time we will live
And the secrets of our self we will not give
So in shadow we will stay hidden
Charged with crimes that others committed
So out here we will stay
To await the dawn of a calmer day.
With all that said.
