The Tunnel

take my hand,
into the tunnel we go,
slowly but with haste we move,
ever cautious,
ever alert,
we speed up to the charge of a cheeta,
then as slow as the crawl of a catepillar,
silence is throughout this world,
all i can see is darkness,
and the glimmer in your eyes,
i keep hold of your hand,
squeezing it tightly i never will let go,
further and further we travel,
into the stomach of the gloom,
i feel like we are walking in circles,
this is torture,
i feel aware of everything,
i am afraid i will walk into something,
a wall, a post, or maybe sign
i feel like i know nothing,
i wish we knew how to get out,
perhaps there is no way out,
maybe together we will wonder oblivious and unknown to this sentence to eternity....
