In The Logic Of Dreams

Contributed by bohemian_with_a_pen on Saturday, 12th February 2005 @ 02:07:58 AM in AEST
Topic: Suicide

In the logic of dreams
This honey orange sunset would be a sunset after all
Instead of an ancient weatherboard house bellowing its fire song.
The flames make the grass blush and shy away, reeking of petrol perfume and long forgotten promises.
(Seared like acid on her mind)
The houses around it shiver into momentary wakefulness before sinking back into sleep, in the early hours of Sunday morning.
(The wind whispers its sympathy)
Shards of glass dance around her feet like falling raindrops, and the golden angel sighs an aching tune of splintering wood with her hot breath.
(She just wanted to love herself)
Why did it have to come to this?
The thought is heavier than lead
So she lets it fall
As her body spreads like soft butter over the stairs.
(The relic of her cry fades on the wind until it is nothing)

art- you spoke a picture into existance, as though with breath you can paint murals. your confidance and foundation, unwavering. i read the last line with courage, with dare. another lingering image, resilient and breathtaking. we are all dead in the stairwell of eternity.

~i do not believe in your confessed love, until your hands around my throat, screaming promises. Since then i have no doubt, only temptation~weepingprophet

This seems to whirl across a movie screen in front of me with a carefree dance-like rhythm. I love the artful way you've described all of this. The scene is extraordinary. Brilliant.

Lots of love and peace be with you,

Chelsea

Your words are like a watercolor in slow motion breathing the life out even through me fathoming her death. You are an amazing artist with your poetry. Tiffany J. (Red_October)
