What am I

Contributed by dirkdrab on Sunday, 13th February 2005 @ 08:28:37 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

As I sit and watch the world go by,
the waves come in, the sunsets die.
I think to my self... What am I?

There are those who protect.
There are those who lie.
There are those who lead
and others stand by.
There are those who work hard
and others pretend.
There are those who help,
and others won't lend.
And I think to my self... Wat am I?

When the answer comes back I will finally see
Just what I'm made of I'll than have the key.
The key to my success is locked up inside
Only I can choose to soar or to hide.
And I think to myself... What am I?

I've read lots of books on turning the key.
Unleashing the power that's inside of me.
But I'm not sure if I want to see
the knid of person that's inside of me.
What if I can't handle what it is I am.
What if I'm ashamed of my master plan.
It might be different than what I want to be.
People won't like it. Whats inside of me.
And I think to myself... What am I?

So I look for answers in the sky above.
And I look for clues in the eyes that love.
They tell me don't worry, your'e just fine inside.
People will like you, so don't run and hide.
Let yourself soar up high and soon you will see.
There is good inside you, so let yourself free.

As I sit and watch the world go by,
The waves come in, The sunsets die.
I think to myself... What am I?

Now is the time to turn that great magic key.
For now I believe I like being me.

Do you sit and think... What am I?

This is terrific. I love it. A great depiction of one's journey to find oneself. It's great. I just adore it. It's so greatly written... not a flaw to it.

Lots of love and peace be with you,

Chelsea
