UNITY IS WHAT WE WANT TO LAST

Contributed by jmakuer on Monday, 14th February 2005 @ 11:50:26 PM in AEST
Topic: war

AM YOUR LONELY LAND
NO ONE IN THIS UNIVERSE UNDERSTAND
WHY ARE THEY CHASING AWAY MY PEOPLE
LORD WOULD YOU PLEASE TELL WHY

EACH AND EVERYDAY PASSES BY
AND ALL I SEE IS ANOTHER FAMILY CRY
WOULD SOME ONE PLEASE TELL ME WHY

I GO THROUGH TOUGH TIMES EACH AND EVERY YEAR
BUT WHAT I SEE IS ANOTHER KID IS SHEDDING TEARS
AND EVERYBODY IS FILLED WITH NOTHING BUT SO MUCH FEAR

FEAR OF LOOSING ANOTHER FAMILY MEMBER
WHICH COULD BE COUSIN, BROTHER, SISTER, OR EVEN FATHER
AND THEN THEY BE LEFT WITH THEIR HEART TORN

THIS WAR HAS BEEN GOIN ON FOR EVER
I HOPE IT WILL BE THE END TO
HAVE ALL OF YOU TOGETHER

SO LET'S GIVE A GOOD PRAYER
TO THE LORD WHO WILL BRING PEACE AND JOY
TO HIM WHO WILL BRING THE MOTHERS THEIR BOYS

LORD FORGIVE ME FOR I AM INSANE
I JUST WANTED EVERYBODY TO BE THE SAME
HATE IS WHAT WE HAD IN THE PAST
BUT UNITY IS WHAT WE WANT TO LAST

the rimes sound a little forced but i like the idea of the poem just so you know a poem doesnt necisarlly have to follow a rhyme scheme to be good
