footsteps are a memory, too

Claims of it's all for the best Let's just give it a rest But you really didn't have a clue And leaving is something that you do
I've fallen...let my defenses down Spring-green love faded to pasty brown As my soul was ripped and rent All of it's love completely spent
Feeling like poor Lenny, that misbegotten son You, as George, dispatched for the tale to be done Sorry, I truly believed in your promised land What I got was my heart strewn over the land
So, go, take your baggage, hit the road Leave me behind because I'm such a load I'll just live here in your past, fading...receding Wondering where this turn of fate is leading
Our nirvannah's lost, there's no dream-like goal Loving you took too much of an awful toll Please don't ever look back to here All you'll find are memories and fear

I sometimes remember my own lost nirvannah, but now that I do have a real heaven on earth, I realize the one I lost would have truly been a nightmare. I hope you find better, too.
