Tears fell like rain
from all the years of pain.
I turned to you when things got rough
meanwhile pretending that I am so tough
and secretly thinking I'll never be enough.
I can't describe the way you make me feel
It seems too much like a dream for it to be real.
I tried to hide behind my protective shield
believing people would mostly yield.
Letting no one get close to me
because I didn't want them to see
the hurt deep down inside of me.
But now I have found love
like a gift from above.
It began with a single touch
sparks flew, though it might not seem like much.
Then came our first kiss
I never felt anything like this.
We made love under a new days' sun
and that's when our lives together had just begun.
You are my soul mate, the love of my life
Someday I hope you will make me your wife.
I never thought my dreams would come true
but they have because I found you.
